Description
Situated on a hillside overlooking the Cascade Village Hotel and Chair 20, one mile west of Lionshead, Glen Lyon Lodge is a close-in, but peaceful home for visiting exciting Vail. Not quite ski-in, ski-out, but still it is very convenient to walk down the hill to Chair 20 or drive the one mile to Lionshead Village to start your skiing day. The Vail bus system stops at the Cascade Village Hotel, but a car is recommended for grocery shopping and eating out in the evenings. Also, in the summer, the Glen Lyon area is connected to Lionshead, Vail Village, and other points east and west by a lovely bike and walking path.

Comfortable place to stay

Nice and roomy. Kitchens and baths updated--were nice. Has an 80's feel--but comfortable. Carpets need to be replaced and needs new towels in all bathrooms. Walking to the lift was okay although we always had one person drive and drop off to the lift and we always picked up. The house is located on a hill so coming back would be more of a hike. Took about 15 minutes walking with all your stuff on. For adults this would be fine but children under the age of 10, probably not. Driving would be easier. Hot tub is a plus on the upper balcany. We paid $9-10,000 for the week for Vail this is a pretty good deal. Owners are very nice and easy to work with!Parking can accomodate 4 Suvs, two park in the garage and two can park outside the garage. If you have more than that it is really tight. The spa is located up the road a couple of blocks which is a another plus. Overall we liked the house and would recommend it to our friends.

The Glen Lyon lodge exceeded excpectations. It was spacious and cozy at the same time, and all rooms were very comfortable. The one complaint was that the main room was a little dim... but should that stop you from coming? No way. A car is recommended, but not necessary. Half mile walk to the cascade lift.
